World Cup GraphicToon 020: THE SWEDISH CONNECTION Synopsis: This low-budget Brazilian remake portrays the real-life drama of hardboiled, streetsmart hairstyling purists, Scolari "Brutus" Doyle and Ray "The Simulator" Valdo, in hot pursuit of a band of English revellers with bad haircuts who are trying to ruin their samba party. In a shakedown at a karaoke in Rio, Brutus and the Simulator line up the suspects against a wall to give them close-shaves and grill one two-bit hustler with the famous pet non-sequitur: "When's the last time you picked your feet, Robbie? Who's your connection Robbie? What's his name?...I've got a man in Shizuoka who wants to talk to you. You ever been to Shizuoka, Robbie?" When some of the suspects feign groin injuries, Doyle in his typical obscene vocabulary yells: "What is this? A f--kin' hospital here? Huh?" In the end, Simulator Ray is distracted by an offer to takeover the Magpies salon franchise at a posh neighbourhood, so Doyle sets off on his own in a relentless quest that ultimately takes him far beyond the streets of Rio into the labyrinth of the London underground and the alleys of Stockholm to track down debonair kingpin Slippery Sven, for a hair-raising showdown. |
